View from my window on 24th of December, Christmas Eve
Warning.
The following text is not romantic whatsoever. It is indulgence to overall blog content.
Since 2017 we celebrate both Christmases in Ukraine: the Catolic and the Orthodox one. So there are two state holidays now: on 25th of December (introduced in 2017), and on the 7th of January, correspondingly.
State holidays are imperative for state agencies, while for businesses in Ukraine it is discretionary. I guess it was a statement of its kind, as it is not easy to do. In line with Administrative Law of Ukraine, state holidays are to be introduced by Laws. As it was in this case – the Parliament voted and the President signed the law amending the art 73 of Labour Code of Ukraine “On holidays and non-working days”.
